@autiomaa
@mijustin Your recent blog post about collaboration between small stores reminded me of IndieWeb https://indieweb.org project. It has rather different focus, but key similarity is that they prototype & build common data formats & APIs for sites to integrate with each other.

now sees jamietanna's note about having left gitlab pages for Netlify after having set up a system on GitHub Pages and questions his life... 🤣
#
jamietanna[m]
Oh no [chrisaldrich]! Have you only just done it?
#
jamietanna[m]
I'd thoroughly recommend Netlify - it's a great platform, and its global CDN means things are fast wherever you are in the world
#
[chrisaldrich]
I've been tinkering away at it for a few days, but it's not a big deal. Ideally my work will help others (educators especially) do the same thing and I suspect that GitHub pages is a lower bar in that respect.
#
[chrisaldrich]
I'm considering a quick fork-and-go set up for it as well, though I may wait to see how much other IndieWeb I can bake into the set up before doing it.

I'm going to try looking to see what [_iamdave] has done with his h-card and https://sphygm.us/ has done with Webmention next.

I’m wouldn’t. It’s not pretty. You may suffer similar consequences as looking directly into the Ark of the Covenant
#
[chrisaldrich]
[_iamdave] Any methods you've tried that I shouldn't bother with?
#
[chrisaldrich]
I was thinking of just dumping a simple <link> into the header to see what would happen.
#
[chrisaldrich]
I remember you mentioning it earlier in the week.
#
[chrisaldrich]
Of course we can move to #dev if you have ideas... I started here for the context of Jamie's wiki change which predated mine by 30minutes.
#
[_iamdave]
Sure give me just a moment, need to get to a stopping point on a build thing.
#
jamietanna[m]
[chrisaldrich] that's reasonable - I have personal views that mean I try to avoid GitHub where possible and instead align with GitLab, so find Netlify a nice tool as it goes that way, and has a great set of stuff in the platform too
