Salt[m]wow, I definitely just read through all of the info about notes vs articles and am not sure how I feel about the idea that any content can be nameless/titleless... I understand that traditionally things like twitter posts/fb updates wouldn't, and that there is cognitive overhead to consider when naming "any" content, but that doesn't mean a title doesn't exist even if it is automagically generated.
ZegnatSalt[m]: -meta is mostly for stuff about the indieweb itself. Discussing distinction between notes and articles I would say goes well within #indieweb (alternatively #indieweb-dev if it gets to talking about specific parsing implementations and so on)
GWGI also want to look into the metadata process. I added creation date, which wasn't on the original instructions aaronpk created because otherwise you can't sort Indiewebcamps by year. But I want to see if we can put in anything else that might be useful. Have to read the archive.org upload FAQs, I guess.
GWGCoverage: The extent or scope of the content of the resource (geographic place, temporal period, jurisdiction). For example, the place the work took place.
[Aaron_Klemm]As I try to install a full suite of IndieWeb tools and Fediverse software, I want to try to preserve the experience: because it's hard to remember it once one is in and comfortable: I have no idea how to setup the namespaces (I screwed up my Mastodon naming right out of the gate), whether the various tools are going to pan out for my goals, etc. It's hard to envision what the final product will look...what am I aiming for exactly? Do I
[Aaron_Klemm]want one of the tools running my domain homepage, or should that be custom as there are so many disparate things to implement? Entry is hard.
[tantek]Great questions [Aaron_Klemm]! I'm going to emphasize/follow-up in #indieweb as this is absolutely core on topic stuff (the meta channel is more for things "about" the IndieWeb community itself rather than our own personal sites)
aaronpki just had a thought... i suspect having all these discord/matrix lurkers in the room is bringing up the user count of these channels which make them a target for spam
aaronpki wish the matrix bridge was a little less aggressive about keeping nicks in these channels... some of these have never said anything, or haven't actually been active in years
sknebelfrom what I remember from looking into bridge details, IRC networks including Freenode do not like bridges that hide users on the other side without clear notice in the channel (since it's a form of logging)
