↩️ IndieWeb & self publishing concepts are good, but there needs to be more focus on making the concepts more easily approachable. Still a lot of technical challenges even for experienced web developers, and a lot more for rest of the planet.

i’m so tired of those tweets
#
[jgmac1106]
I want to get my two kids recording and a bot to send it out "something like We can IndieWeb and have websites...we are just kids...not a developer like you...maybe stop tweeting and building and you can have a website like me"
#
[jgmac1106]
and I don't want to tear down walls but teach children to want to build their own house...so then maybe they will seek out and learn the skills of a brick builder
#

I just think that especially people who are self-described web developers who have an interest in the indieweb should not complain about how much more work there is to do and instead should start helping out!

it’s not like we are a VC-backed startup that’s got a ton of resources to throw around
#
[jgmac1106]
Hope soon we will have teenagers all over the world doing it: http://tech-4-teens.club/sempress-tutorial/ WordPress, micro.blog it is totally doable... a lot of "look how smart I am in that thread" and no "look at what I am doing"

Anyone have a date suggestion for the Micropub pop-up session? I feel like it would be useful to put that on the calendar, since there are a few things to follow up on. https://indieweb.org/2020/Pop-up/Sessions#Micropub

Chris, Aaron, and Jacky are Pacific, you are central, I'm Eastern, and Jamie is UK.

Chris had the best luck with a weekend morning Pacific, which is afternoon in NYC, and early evening in UK
#
GWG
If we narrow down availability of the one UK person, then we can probably do an evening in Pacific time, as that's reasonable for East, Central, and Western US

!tell [jamietanna] When do you sleep?

Ok, I'll tell them that when I see them next

aaronpk: Are you interested in any of the other plumbing sessions, while you are on that page?
#

i added myself under indieauth as well
#

Okay
#

Eager to, as [manton] said, start putting it on the calendar.

!tell jamietanna[m]: When are your normal sleeping hours

Ok, I'll tell them that when I see them next
#
Zegnat
Is that a datapoint I am going to have to start publishing? Sleeping hours?
#
jacky
lmfao
#
GWG
Zegnat: We could have a public calendar on our sites with available hours to figure out meetings

!tell GWG 2200 GMT is probably the latest I'd be able to be online for the session

jamietanna: Ending or starting?
#
jamietanna
Sorry, ending. I'd be heading to bed not long after that
#
jamietanna
But I don't know how much of a constraint that causes you all, so I don't mind not being involved in that case :)
#
GWG
jamietanna: 2200gmt = 1800 edt and 1500 pdt
#
GWG
Assuming a 90-120 minute discussion...
#
GWG
That's beginning at 1330pdt, 1630edt, 2030gmt
#

seems like there's lots of overlapping hours if we are only concerned with these timezones
