This works. But is the architecture behind this correct? I used the e-content property while publishing, not h-cite > e-content. If it were correct, I wouldn't be staring at my screen when I came around to implementing reply with context/cite. #indieweb #micropub

what is related posts?
#
Loqi
Related Reading or related posts or related content is a discovery feature of some blogging silos (like Medium, Wordpress.com) where at the end of a blog post, the system suggests another deemed-likely-interesting-to-you given your assumed interest in the topic that you just read about https://indieweb.org/related_posts
#
boffosocko.com
deleted /is_energy_conservation "somehow Loqi put a verb into the page title.... content was: "#redirect:[[green_computing]]", and the only contributor was "[[Special:Contributions/Boffosocko.com|Boffosocko.com]]" ([[User talk:Boffosocko.com|talk]])"

[chrisaldrich]
what is further reading?
#
Loqi
Post or posts may refer to individual pieces of content published on an indieweb site such as notes, articles, & responses, or the act of creating the aforementioned content (present tense), or Posts about the IndieWeb https://indieweb.org/further_reading

[tantek]
huh looks like Loqi has a page search bug
#
[tantek]
what is a permalink?
#
Loqi
A permalink is a URL which typically represents and retrieves a single post (also explicitly called a post permalink) https://indieweb.org/permalink
#
[tantek]
that works
#
[tantek]
permalink << does this go to permalink or comment permalink?
#
Loqi
ok, I added "does this go to permalink or comment permalink?" to a new "See Also" section of /permalink https://indieweb.org/wiki/index.php?diff=72055&oldid=21410

#
[tantek]
hah! that's the bug. cc: aaronpk note the difference in the two uses of < < above and how Loqi handled them.
#
aaronpk
i blame mediawiki search
#
[tantek]
discovered via KevinMarks in chat using "Permalink < <"
#
[tantek]
oh that's bad
#
aaronpk
since there is no page /Permalink, it uses search, which turns up /comment_permalink before /permalink for some reason
#
[tantek]
alright, workaround for now then
#
tantek.com
created /Permalink, (+23) "redirect because MediaWiki has a search bug where searching for Permalink gives [[comment permalink]] as the first result instead of [[permalink]] as it should"

Do people feel strongly about prefixing events with "ONLINE: "? Like are there actual IRL events in the UK and Europe these days (have things gotten that much better?)
#
[tantek]
Otherwise I'd like to drop the "ONLINE: " since the event descriptions / locations already have that info

[tantek]
*drop from the name of the events

Hrmm, I submitted a bookmark to the “post open source” article from boringcactus to indienews, and on indienews it showed up with a blank title. Is there something wrong with my bookmark, or is this a failure on indienews to derive the title?
#
[fluffy]
The original post has no mf2 on it but it has a meaningful <title> as well as opengraph tags
#
sknebel
I *think* indienews uses the title of *your* post
#
aaronpk
correct
#
[fluffy]
My post has a title though
#
sknebel
not in mf2 markup
#
[fluffy]
muh? it should
#
aaronpk
i don't see it
#
sknebel
<a href="/blog/chatter/2828-Post-Open-Source" class="u-url">Post-Open Source</a>
#
[fluffy]
oh, right
#
[fluffy]
this is because of a fix I put in for rsvp posts 😛
#
[fluffy]
Because of how one of the indieweb things was using a p-name to consider an RSVP post as a reply instead of an RSVP.
#
[fluffy]
It was a workaround for this page: https://events.indieweb.org/2020/06/indiewebcamp-west-eat-your-own-cooking-pre-party-DH5F8SRjSHff because when I was sending a p-name along with my RSVP response that page saw it as a reply instead of an RSVP.
#
[fluffy]
Anyway I changed the workaround to be only for RSVPs instead of all note types, and sent a new webmention, but the indienews post hasn’t been updated.
#
[fluffy]
hm, pin13.net isn’t seeing the change either. Maybe a caching issue on my end, ugh
#
sknebel
cache? not seeing it
#
[fluffy]
when I load the page and view page source I’m seeing the p-name though?
#
sknebel
one sec, let me clear browser cache...
#
aaronpk
i'm still not seeing it
#
[fluffy]
well, I just reset my cache and pin13 is showing it
#
aaronpk
ah there it goes
#
[fluffy]
and now the indienews post is fixed, phew
