I was looking for a content through the indieweb wiki, which lead to a 404 on your site, so I started digging, and I agree with your conclusions from above; I reached a similar position a while ago. ( twitter.com/_/status/1298292721023627267)

# ↩️ Yeah, pretty much. Rather than relying on fixed discovery paths, have like <link rel="profile" href="blah"> in the page headers.
