This list of summary values & icons looked highly overlapping / resonant with our own /principles and /code-of-conduct. I wonder if there are aspects here we can learn from and or incorporate that have been implicit IndieWeb values? https://carpentries.org/values/

↩️ I Really like your style. It's distinctive, the colors I love. I Do not understand why it is what it is, but it's your site. Check out http://IndieWeb.org, I think they would be up your street.

tantek, I'm aware of The Carpentries and have thought about it as an IndieWeb tangent space directed toward librarians, though it's got a more tech/tools/open source direction. A bit similar to the idea of Domain of One's Own as IndieWeb for Educators. I've done some occasional outreach, but the pandemic has slowed down some of the in-person discussions I had hoped to have this year.
#
[chrisaldrich]
Many of their ideas definitely dovetail with who we are and what we're doing.
#
[chrisaldrich]
We should definitely consider a session of sitting down and brainstorming what/how they're doing and seeing what we can take away from it.

If anarchivist (https://matienzo.org/) is in the channel, they may have more experience (and opinions) with The Carpentries than I do.

Greg, wanna pick up that thread and do a pop-up session sometime in late January maybe? That'll give us time to do a bit of related outreach on that front.
#
[chrisaldrich]
I'll have to do some digging to determine the link (if any) between The Carpentries and https://librarycarpentry.org/
#
[chrisaldrich]
and look... Slack metacrap seems to indicate they're the same, but with two different websites....

Apparently Google went down for a lot of people today and it did not notice any issues at all. Thank you #indieweb, @duckduckgo and my email and webhost @antagonistnl for offering great alternatives!
