↩️ I’ve had a good read of the #IndieWeb docs but it wasn’t clear what the most simple way of hosting your own site and cross posting to Twitter and Mastodon was. What would you recommend?

↩️ For your syndication criteria & the greatest level of simplicity, I’d recommend looking at @microdotblog first. There are some other potential options listed at https://indieweb.org/Quick_Start. ↩️ So it just has to be accurate in aspect ratio? It can be like the Fatwigoo fix for SVG but add a height too? https://indieweb.org/Fatwigoo

Fatwigoo << set a height as well as a width so that the layout engine knows the aspect ratio of the original image (see https://www.industrialempathy.com/posts/image-optimizations/ )

ok, I added "set a height as well as a width so that the layout engine knows the aspect ratio of the original image (see https://www.industrialempathy.com/posts/image-optimizations/ )" to the "See Also" section of /Fatwigoo https://indieweb.org/wiki/index.php?diff=74115&oldid=67917

[KevinMarks]: I wonder if height is neccessary there. Fatwigoo (IIRC) only applies to inline <svg>, and those can be rendered immediately. So there is no waiting time in which the browser does not know the aspect ratio.

@cramforce
@kevinmarks yeah, as of this year browsers assume that an image that they haven't loaded yet has the aspect-ratio (for height:auto) inferred from width/height attributes. Before browsers would ignore the attributes and assume the image is 0 pixel high until loaded.
