jamietanna: I would actually prefer writing without pronouns, trying to rewrite it to only use names. Especially because I fear using "they" only in technical writing might make it harder to follow along which party is referred to.

I seem to recall a discussion about using community provided names at some point instead of Alice and Bob too. Because Tantek and Martijn are a lot less anglocentric. (With consenting parties only, of course.) And could be an option to find more gender neutral names in general.
