↩️ As always, I am a proponent of the IndieWeb, partially because the protocols are built in a simple, open, composable manner, but mostly because the most common tooling for it encourages long-form posts and actual conversations and sharing things with each other.

↩️ anyway. I won’t pretend that IndieWeb is perfect and I definitely have some differences in opinions with a lot of the folks in it, but the great thing about IndieWeb is it isn’t a protocol, it’s a philosophy about how to build things. people > protocols > platforms.

↩️ IndieWeb has had a distributed identity and authentication mechanism for ages. Recently some agreement has finally happened to make that feasible to support by feed readers. Some publishing platforms make use of it for access control. The main thing missing is a good feed reader.

↩️ Another thing IndieWeb folks are working on which is mostly ignored in social networking in general: true fine-grained privacy. This was a core part of Publ’s design and I’m glad to see some forward progress in IndieWeb stuff to make it happen. (Still a long way to go of course)

↩️ I worry whenever I see IndieWeb tools that are built under the premise of making quick posts and even quicker replies.

↩️ anyway this has been another episode of “fluffy rants about Twitter on Twitter instead of posting it to her own indieweb-based blog because the problems with Twitter are also the only reason why anyone would read a rant about it in the first place”

@TheRealNooshu
@indiewebcamp is it possible to migrate Web Mentions from one domain to another easily? e.g. http://nooshu.github.io --> http://nooshu.com ?
