#[tantek]^ nice, becoming a citable silo-reference of record as it were

#[manton]@GWG: You asked about how Micro Camp in-person went… I’m pretty happy with it. We had about 7-8 people together. We streamed pre-recorded sessions on the hour and then just used the in between time to chat informally. The previous day was all virtual with a few live panels. Felt like a good first step toward a larger in-person event.
#GWG[manton]: that's what we're asking ourselves for an IWC restart...based on Micro.camp and the fact that you have organized an IWC and attended, what do you think is possible in 2022-early 2023 timeframe?

#agnez[m]Hi, I just stumbled in ... don't really know on what ground I am putting my feet here. I like FLOSS, and biking and gardening and protecting privacy and make websites and am based in Belgium
#GWGWelcome...we have several rooms depending on subtopic... what do you know about our community?
#[aciccarello]That reminds me. I still want to make a section on my site for plant updates 🤔
#agnez[m]<GWG> "Welcome...we have several..." <- nothing really. Someone sent me a link to this page https://indieweb.org/POSSE wich I found interesting. And the I saw that you have meetings with people that maintain their sites. That's about it 🥸
#[jeremycherfas]Any interest in an in-person IWC in London in the next couple of weeks?
#GWGagnez[m]: We have a European meetup on Zoom and another North American one... those are open to all, the regions only refer to timezones.
#GWGBut we basically believe people should have their own sites online representing their identities rather than having their online identities tied up with third parties under which they have no control or influence
#agnez[m]great GWG that fits quite well with my way of thinking. thanks for the info
#GWGagnez[m]: The wiki has a lot more thoughts on various topics.. it is many layers deep
#[manton]@GWG I think IWC could start to slowly get back to normal. Personally, I’m not ready to plan one (and I think the interest in Texas is at a kind of all-time low right now) but my 2 cents for others is maybe scale things back. I kind of like 1 day in person, 1 day virtual. Or some mix like that.
#[tantek]seems appropriate given that IWC London was the first that went virtual in response to lockdown (or was it the weekend before lockdown?) in 2020
#[tantek]but yeah, anyone interested in planning or participating in a London event: please add something about your thoughts to https://indieweb.org/Planning#London if you want to help make it happen, and give a broader set of folks a heads-up that there's interest
#[tantek]if/when we do another IWS in Portland, even though it's far fewer people than XOXO, it may be worth considering doing something similar to what XOXO did to at least have a net positive local impact
