ok, I added "[https://whalebird.social/en/desktop/contents Whalebird] is a [[Mastodon]], [[Pleroma]], and [[Misskey]] client for desktop application with a Slack-like interface." to the "See Also" section of /Mastodon https://indieweb.org/wiki/index.php?diff=86162&oldid=86011

what do people think of semantic linebreaks for at least articles / wiki-editing? https://rhodesmill.org/brandon/2012/one-sentence-per-line/ (it may help with diffs)
#
[chrisaldrich]
tantek, that is a clever tip. I use it a lot more frequently in LaTeX typesetting scenarios, but I ought to use it more often in my own daily note taking, markdown, and wiki-editing practices, particularly where diffs are entailed. Great find there, particularly with the reference back to the original from 1974.
#
[tantek]
cool. if folks think it's a good idea in general, and no objections, I can add it as a tip to /wikify
#
[aciccarello]
I haven't used that much. Typically I write my blog posts with a paragraph on a single line but that could work well. I might have to try it out.
#
[KevinMarks]
That's great. Tufte was writing about rethinking sentences in his latest book
#
[KevinMarks]
Some blogging tools insist that a linebreak becomes a <br>
#
[tantek]
And for those of us that write with multiple clauses, linebreaks at clauses could be helpful too.
#
[chrisaldrich]
For those not aware, some (most?) flavors of Markdown will include a linebreak at the end of a line with two blank spaces but one space and a return will be interpreted as the same line continued.
#
[tantek]
wow that is so invisible
#
[tantek]
ooh yes
#
[chrisaldrich]
The online version of chat isn't capturing the Slack images [KevinMarks] is including in this conversation (or likely into the logs). Is this a purposeful thing, or just a gap that hasn't been filled from the Slack translation?
#
[KevinMarks]
Oh, oops, I think that used to work and stopped
#
[chrisaldrich]
[KevinMarks]++ for the excellent examples though

Yeah, aaronpk is aware of the Slack images bug

Not purposeful

I’ve always written my markdown with one sentence per line for diffability. Something I enforce on all PRs I’m reviewing.
#
[iambismark]
It’s a good practice IMO!
#
[tantek]
I like to break long sentences also though
