[tantek] I think the key is to always click "Edit" when viewing the original / upstream version that you want to actually contribute to, and then that will eventually walk you through creating a PR directly on that version.

gRegor The forking usually is fine for me. This time I just got caught because I used web editor instead of updating on my computer and pushing. Didn't know the create PR button was on my fork instead of upstream
