sknebel if this is by now running on a machine with systemd, i'd suggest using a systemd timer instead of cron, that can handle timezones for you ;)

sknebel main thing is that you could say something like "Friday *-*-* 3..15:00:00 America/Los_Angeles" as the specification for when to run the script and itll do the calculation in that timezone. since that seems to cause hassle every year...
