#[catgirlinspace]i still don't know the proper way to mention people here. ive seen people do @ username, [ username ], and just saying the username. is confusing.
#[tantek]aaronpk, any chance of updating the photo upload limit on events.indieweb to at least 3MB? Maybe 5MB?
#[tantek]catgirlinspace, you should be able to "just" use whatever name they show up with from the perspective of your client and the bridging does the translation
#[tantek]with perhaps one exception, if you're using Slack, and the other person is a Slack user too (you can hover over their icon and it should NOT say "incoming-webhook") then you do type the @ and then use Slack's clientside UI to choose the person you want to mention
#sknebelthe more interesting part is if [catgirlinspace] (me writing your nick in square brackets in IRC) gets turned into an @-mention, since slack does make that distinction
#[catgirlinspace]oh wait did the bridge add the [] because aaron\pk is also on slack?
#sknebelah right, if its a slack-@-mention its the correct thing to bridge to IRC with the brackets, so it matches the slack-users irc nick
#[tantek]!tell omz13 hey omz13 was it your intention to expand the /http3 page to have indieweb relevance in its definition and list indieweb examples? (i.e. see https://indieweb.org/relevant_to_the_IndieWeb_wiki) if not, we should delete the page because it doesn't serve any purpose compare to the Wikipedia page for http3 http://enwp.org/http3
#[tantek]!tell [capjamesg] you should offer to take a screenshot of the Zoom or Jitsi room of the SocialCG meeting tomorrow so we can add it to the event in the newsletter ^ !
#omz13[tantek] That was the intention but my use of http3 has stalled due to other priorities. Suggest pages for http3 and http2 simply redirect to http (which could itself do with some attention)

[catgirlinspace], [capjamesg], [KevinMarks], IWSlackGateway and AramZS joined the channel
#[tantek]I think redirecting to a section (perhaps brainstorming?) on http makes sense, that way you could at least capture or summarize what you had in mind
#[KevinMarks]LinkTree was a workaround for Instagram's anti-link policies. Now they're adding more links to Threads, that may make less sense. The omg.lol linksite supports rel=me properly https://home.omg.lol/info/profile-items

#LoqiIt looks like we don't have a page for "hatnote" yet. Would you like to create it? (Or just say "hatnote is ____", a sentence describing the term)
#gRegorWas just discussing setting that up in -chat
#[tantek]perhaps Loqi should treat < < additions of an entire line of {{template-name}} as intending it to be added to the TOP of the page rather than the See Also section
#LoqiJust generated this week's newsletter! You still have a few minutes to make changes, and I'll re-generate it 10 minutes before it gets sent out at 3pm Pacific time. https://indieweb.org/this-week/2023-10-06.html
