[aaronpk] I made a PR to jf2 (which [KevinMarks] merged) but it is not reflected in https://jf2.spec.indieweb.org/ — I thought that (Editor's draft) was dynamically showing top of tree, is there some other manual step to have the Editor's draft show the latest version in the repo? (and if possible I think it would be much better if the Editor's draft literally reflected latest in its GH repo)
#
[tantek]
(aside rant about editing specs in GH and needing extra tooling to have the latest version "saved" actually show up to folks reading/referencing the specs 🙄 )
#
[tantek]
(in contrast to a wiki page)
#
aaronpk
it should auto-update from the repo but there is the source HTML file and the rendered HTML file
#
aaronpk
oh hm maybe that one isn't set up that way actually
#
aaronpk
yep nvm looks like this is the deploy hook not working
#
[tantek]
yep no rendered HTML file for that spec
#
[tantek]
Has there been a pattern of GitHub hooks (deploy and otherwise) failing / stopping working?
#
aaronpk
no but I did just move the server
#
aaronpk
i just updated it manually, will figure out the web hook later
#
aaronpk
ah, figured it out. this one deploys from gh-pages which was forbidden before. so apparently the web hook for this repo never worked 😂

[tantek]
I'm wondering if I should create a separate page for @-mention in particular (possibly also @-@) separate from /person_mention
#
[tantek]
that documents and explores publishing (typed & visible) syntax
#
[tantek]
what to do folks thinks? the questions from [pfefferle] make me thing this is worth documenting as its own thing

I tend to prefer fewer pages
#
[aciccarello]
It's easy to miss a related page and think the content isn't on the wiki
#
[tantek]
aciccarello, yeah that's a good argument for growing content on one page (with redirects from other ways of looking for it), until it seems like some subset of that content is "too big" and deserves its own page, which the first (larger) page can link to and still keep a mini-sub-section summary in place for findability/discoverability
#
[tantek]
the challenge is when a subject overlaps (rather than is a subset of) an existing page
