# Loqi Anything directly related to people with their own websites, such as technologies and services used, design and UX, formats and protocols, as well as events or podcasts with IndieWeb talks or content are relevant to the IndieWeb wiki https://indieweb.org/relevant_to_the_IndieWeb
# capjamesg[d] I think it's relevant.
# Loqi ok, I added "if it's a struggle in any way for/while creating indieweb content it's worth documenting on the wiki to reduce the pain/struggle for others on their personal sites." to the "See Also" section of /relevant_to_the_IndieWeb_wiki https://indieweb.org/wiki/index.php?diff=95977&oldid=94526
# capjamesg[d] I don't know how I would use curly quotes right now beyond copying the Unicode character and replacing it in my text files.
# Loqi It looks like we don't have a page for "curly quotes" yet. Would you like to create it? (Or just say "curly quotes is ____", a sentence describing the term)
# [KevinMarks] on the mac keyboard they are option-[ and option-] for oprn quotes and option-shift those keys for close quotes/apostrophe
# capjamesg[d] I don't like that π¬
# capjamesg[d] Three keys to press?
# [KevinMarks] I'm used to it I suppose, it seems easy to me. Plus those are right above the ' key
# [KevinMarks] it's like the accent keys fro Mac, they're easy to remember because they match the letters that oftenhave those accents
# paperbritt A long time ago I remember having to seek out rogue curly quotes and apostrophes in text pasted from Word. It doesn't break things as much anymore but it sure looks inconsistent to see them in the same body of text.

# capjamesg[d] π
# capjamesg[d] There is an opportunity for a corny portmanteau here.
# capjamesg[d] curlets π
# capjamesg[d] curlypastelets. I love it.
# gRegor Interesting minutiae about the Unicode apostrophe type characters. I was thinking for a moment I needed to use "modifier letter apostrophe" based on its name, but apparently "right single quotation mark" is correct now: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apostrophe#Unicode
# [KevinMarks] βthat's what she saidβ
# capjamesg[d] Those quotes came through to me emboldened.
# [KevinMarks] they're called HEAVY DOUBLE TURNED COMMA QUOTATION MARK ORNAMENT
# capjamesg[d] π
# capjamesg[d] HDTCQMO for short.
# capjamesg[d] Do we need another acronym?
# capjamesg[d] You should see the Taylor Swift subreddit.
# capjamesg[d] I am literally thinking of making a translator for me.
# capjamesg[d] I can't find an example now, but I have seen a few of the longer names spelled as abbreviations.
# capjamesg[d] Link?
# capjamesg[d] And should I be making this TS reference page? π
# capjamesg[d] It will be a task.
# capjamesg[d] I'll need to cross-check the abbreviations with Reddit to verify actual usage.
# [tantek] I use the domain/w/ convention for my wiki pages e.g. http://tantek.com/w/TxtShorthands
# capjamesg[d] Good to know.
# capjamesg[d] Wow.
# capjamesg[d] That's a long list.
# capjamesg[d] And the specificity of "OTC = On The Corner (cafe on Divisadero)" π
# capjamesg[d] nfl = non-fat latte. I love it.
