#[tantek]I found this thread to be an insightful critique (with examples) of neglect can be harmful to the diversity of "open" communities. The thread and examples are about one particular axis which is worth considering all on its own IMO (especially for organizers, facilitators, and others who help build community here), and then dynamics that are pointed out I suspect may (likely do) apply to other axes:
#LoqiDiversity is the extent to which members of the IndieWeb community, including event attendees and speakers, contributors, participants in chat, wiki editors, and self-identified IndieWeb website owners, are representative of a wide range of human attributes including, but not limited to, race, gender, religion, age, sexual orientation, able-bodiedness, education, socioeconomic status, political leaning, national origin, etc https://indieweb.org/diversity

More than even the threat of #Meta, if the #Fediverse does not address its anti-Blackness in the general populace, it will rot the community from the inside out.
You can hate me for mentioning it if you want, but you know it...

#LoqiIt looks like we don't have a page for "members" yet. Would you like to create it? (Or just say "members is ____", a sentence describing the term)
#LoqiThe chat names page has a list of chat regulars sorted by nickname with their website and usual timezone(s), and is used for icons next to nicknames in IndieWeb chat logs https://indieweb.org/chat_names
#Loqiwho is is when someone asks in chat “who is ____” and Loqi responds with a short summary from that person's wiki user page https://indieweb.org/who_is
