[tantek]
aaronpk, I found the repo for the Omnibear site: https://github.com/keithjgrant/omnibear-site
#
Loqi
[preview] [keithjgrant] omnibear-site: Public website for Omnibear
#
[aciccarello]
I need to reach out to keith about that domain. I'm still hoping to restore the extension
#
[tantek]
so short term proposal: transfer those to repos https://github.com/keithjgrant/omnibear-site and https://github.com/keithjgrant/omnibear to the GH IndieWeb org, and the http://omnibear.com domain to aaronpk to keep with the set of IndieWeb-related domains. What do folks think assuming Keith would be ok with it?
#
Loqi
[preview] [keithjgrant] omnibear-site: Public website for Omnibear
#
aaronpk
no argument from me on the github repo
#
[tantek]
aciccarello, absolutely would be great to have you be the lead on the repo/project
#
[aciccarello]
I'm good with that plan. I know keith was open to transferring
#
[tantek]
be the person reviewing issues / commits etc.
#
[aciccarello]
Yep, I can do that
#
aaronpk
my rule of thumb for domains has been to only move domains to the indieweb account for things that are more indieweb infrastructure, but not individual products
#
[tantek]
I'm happy to be "just a contributor"
#
[tantek]
yeah that's a decent general rule
#
[tantek]
I wonder if we could apply some threshold to indieweb projects that get some level of adoption / uptake just to keep things stable / around?
#
aaronpk
so things that i still consider my own individual products include: webmention.io, quill.p3k.io, etc, and I wouldn't expect those to be paid for by the community
#
[tantek]
sure, that makes sense, and you still have the bandwidth to maintain them
#
aaronpk
barely 😂
#
[tantek]
however if at some point you wanted to hand them off, I think that would be reasonable too
#
[tantek]
that's kinda my point 🙂
#
aaronpk
bridgy falls under that category too IMO
#
[tantek]
like the open collective has enough for them, and then being able to list the set of services that the OC pays for may even attract marginal more donations that would support marginal more services
#
[tantek]
agreed re: bridgy
#
aaronpk
i'm not worried about the dollars, but I am worried about the precedent
#
aaronpk
also worried about signing up the community for additional ongoing maintenance of the projects
#
[tantek]
right, that makes sense. hence my point about figuring out some sort of threshold of uptake/adoption/impact or something
#
aaronpk
e.g. we can barely handle indiewebify.me

#
[tantek]
what is Fountain
#
Loqi
Fountain is a simple markup syntax for writing, editing and sharing screenplays in plain, human-readable text, used by at least one IndieWeb community member https://indieweb.org/Fountain
#
[tantek]
FYI ^ [mattl] slight dfn update to mention IndieWeb relevance
#
tantek.com
edited /Cooklang (+19) "dfn: people more specifically indieweb community members to note IndieWeb relevance"

#
[tantek]
what is Cooklang
#
Loqi
Cooklang is a Recipe Markup Language that some IndieWeb community members are using to mark-up recipes so that they are both human-readable and can be used as a shopping list and streamlined recipe stages, stripped of any extra writing https://indieweb.org/Cooklang
#
[tantek]
FYI ^ aciccarello similarly updated dfn to mention IndieWeb relevance

looks good!
#
[tantek]
hmm, curious that https://indieweb.org/this-week/2024-11-22.html#new-event-notes did not include any HWC notes.
#
[tantek]
capjamesg[d], gRegor, and ideas what could be happening there? Pretty sure I saw that HWC etherpads were archived for the past week
#
gRegor
The page was moved due to typo in the slug and the newsletter doesn't pull in moved pages, for the new event section at least
