This: "do not let antisocial actors ruin your social space by entrenching themselves in your community while working against everything you were trying to do by setting up the community in the first place." — makes me feel a bit of relief for letting some number of anti-social folks find their way to the exit

Only thing I will say is that moderating communities does require labor, and can burn people out. Some folks have more spare emotional labor than others and people's (even moderator's) emotional labor budget can drastically fluctuate day to day, week to week, and that's worth admitting, accepting, and working with per /life_happens. No one "entitled" to the emotional labors of others, even moderators.
