[tantek] Yes most tutorials are badly out of date and this indicates a larger problem of individuals work hard and contribute tutorials but then don’t collaborate with someone else to maintain or hand them off

[tantek] This is fine for something like the username template which is fairly static given the technology it is about

[tantek] Howveee tutorials for external OSS projects (WordPress, Known) or external services (AWS, etc) go out of date very quickly (instructions rot with obsolete screenshots etc) and then they have the opposite effect of helping beginners. They frustrate beginners and may make them give up on more than the tutorial but also the site and/or community
