Hi, I have a longer question/request for advice but before I post it I wanted to know: Do all platforms that are bridged to the discord server support the flavor of markdown Discord uses?

no, and long messages are generally not bridged well at all. I'd recommend posting a few short sentences, or if it's really long, write a post on your website and share a link to it

ok, I added "https://poeticweb.com/bookmarklets/index.html <blockquote>We will treat the browser’s bookmarks bar as an instrument, with many tiny programs as our little strings. Hey, I want to clownsource an opinion. I haven't contributed to the Wiki much, and I was thinking about adding this section to the /Caw page. It's not directly IndieWeb-related, but it's caw-related and I'm positive would be of interest to some of the community members with Caw pages. Opinions? Appropriate addition or inappropriate?

[https://publicdomainreview.org Public Domain Review] describes it as "A rather sad tale, told in rhyme, of a group of crows who lose some of their family members due to a farmer who decides to rid himself of the birds." The illustrator is believed to be [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jemima%20Blackburn Jemima Blackburn], a noted Scottish illustrator of birds of the time.

[https://publicdomainreview.org/collection/caw-caw-or-the-chronicle-of-crows-ca-1848/ Caw! Caw! Or the Chronicle of Crows, A Tale of the Spring Time] is an 1848 book by R.M., published by Grant & Griffith in London.

[Michael_Kupiet] IMO it's borderline. Normally I'd say that sounds like general knowledge, not indieweb-specific, so Wikipedia would be a better destination. However, Wikipedia's caw (sound) page redirects to a brief section here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corvus#Calls that doesn't feel receptive to such details.

The other thing is that page is say on the more "humorous" or "lighthearted" side of the wiki pages we have so expanding it as such seems fairly harmless 🙂
#
[tantek]
just one opinion
#
[Michael_Kupiet]
Pretty much my thoughts exactly, that's why I asked. I wouldn't consider adding something like this on a more serious topic.

I would encourage you to add a one line summary of that book however to the Wikipedia CAW disambiguation page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CAW
#
[tantek]
see for example how the "Bang Bang" disambiguation page refers to movies, songs, and other media in a few instances: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bang_Bang

Oh, interesting. Man, I don't believe I've contributed anything to WP in about 19 years, but I'll have a look at that.

(Giving you what my friend calls the "California RSVP". "Yeah! That sounds great!" Will it happen? ...maybe 😉 )

disambiguation pages are among the easier to edit in my experience (and get the addition to "stick" as it were)

[Michael_Kupiet] said "recent experience" FYI: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Boom_Boom&diff=1342633473&oldid=1334132899 (which was [artlung]'s "fault")

[Michael_Kupiet] do it, make an edit! [tantek] got me into it over the holidays and I made my first edits ever, something like 20+ years after first creating my wikipedia account
