[Kupietz] [tantek] I’ve been trying to figure out how to get loqi to update my nick in the web interface. /discuss isn’t very clear. Thought that might do the trick, it was a stab in the dark.

[tantek] [Kupietz] it looks like you have two completely different accounts with different fullname, different email etc. so there's no programmatic (or UI AFAIK) way to "update" either to the other. In general I believe Slack does not let you change your email address. A new email address requires making a new account.

[tantek] There's no way in Slack for Loqi (or an admin) to tell the difference between same person with two accounts, and a rogue account pretending to be someone with an existing account

[Kupietz] Well, i’m not sure how that happened, but it looks like comments made to one account on Slack are posting to the other account on the web interface then.

[tantek] [aaronpk] can you see the difference in "fullname" in Slack vs what http://chat.indieweb.org/meta shows for the Slack "fullname" in brackets? How/why is Loqi/Slack conflating those two which have two different email accounts associated with them?

[Kupietz] for context, I changed my Slack nicknames and updated /chat-names to the same the other day. Before that I wasn’t aware of any issue
