[capjamesg]At least two recent participants to HWC Edinburgh have been working on the basics of HTML/CSS on their site. Explaining IndieAuth wouldn't have fit naturally in our first conversations.
GWG, [social], [capjamesg] and [tantek] joined the channel
[tantek]capjamesg, I think “explaining IndieAuth” is the wrong framing and approach for new folks. The approach I have found that has worked is to explore whether they link to their other profiles from their home page, then if they do, explain the “basic HTML” of adding rel=me to this links. That’s all it should take. There should be no mention of IndieAuth

LoqiJust generated this week's newsletter! You still have a few minutes to make changes, and I'll re-generate it 10 minutes before it gets sent out at 3pm Pacific time. https://indieweb.org/this-week/2026-07-03.html
gRegorYou can check the "minor edit" box so they don't show up here, which is fine for updating your user page, though usually don't recommend it for other wiki page edits
LoqiThis tutorial will help you set up a small template that you can use when updating the IndieWeb wiki to easily add your name, photo, and a link to your user page. These templates are commonly used when adding yourself to IndieWeb Example sections or taking notes in etherpads https://indieweb.org/Tutorial-set-up-your-personal-wiki-template

thatoddshadeI feel like there should be a “save money” or “free stuff” article on the Wiki that would encompass everything from domains and hosts to IndieWeb-specific services.
ZodiacalCometIs there a way to "migrate" a page without having to remove all content and create the new page? Would like to do that with /gitlab-pages , to make the page title be "Gitlab Pages" instead
