#
Phae
that was quick, tantek
#
Phae
i was about to do that
#
tantek
we should get points or something for speed ;)
#
Phae
oh. i like that. can we get the bot to keep score?
#
tantek
just woke up
#
tantek
aaronpk - Loqi feature request - keep track of wiki defense points against spam (per person)
#
tantek
and more points the faster the spam is removed
#
tantek
perhaps have an overall score and a score for the month?
#
Phae
yeah, that's fair

anybody else in the London/Brighton area thinking about going to the UK meetup? http://microformats.org/wiki/events/2011-04-uk
#
hober
tantek: did you used to program in pascal?
#
hober
(I'm mucking around with your old polygons-in-CSS, and I've noticed you generally left the last rule's semicolon off, á lapascal)
#
tobyink
In Perl, the last ";" before "}" is optional. In PHP, the last ";" before "?>" is likewise.
#
tobyink
In Javascript they're optional all over the place. Can be as confusing as hell.
#
tantek
hober - yes - pascal was my first "structured" programming language (not counting BASIC)
#
tantek
it's an aesthetic preference - on a single line I tend to leave off the
#
tantek
before the } in CSS
#
tantek
for multiple lines, where the closing } is on its own line, then I put
#
tantek
after each declaration
#
hober
Yeah, same here (Pascal as first non-BASIC pl)
#
hober
BASIC, then Pascal, then Common Lisp, actually
#
Phae
i had to do pascal at school
#
hober
Phae: yeah, Pascal was what they taught at my high school
#
Phae
i thought it was primarily a teaching lang?
#
hober
no way, it was a systems programming language.the classic Mac operating system was written in pascal
#
Phae
i did java and prolog during my degree
#
Phae
just for the randomness :)
#
Phae
ah, i see
#
Phae
fiar enough
#
Phae
erg.
#
hober
but yeah, it was big in education
#
hober
UCSD did a Pascal impl that was one of the earliest bytecode compilers
#
Phae
nasa TV is good today, btw. spacewalks!
#
hober
do you watch spacevidcast?
#
hober
those guys are awesome
#
Phae
no, i hear it is good
#
Phae
i never seem to remember to watch i
#
hober
they're super-awesome people
#
aaronpk
good morning! Just catching up on backlog.
#
Loqi
*yawn*
#
aaronpk
tantek, Phae, I love the spam points idea!
#
tantek
and for extra points you could have Loki keep track *per wiki* :)
#
tantek
I see a spamfighters leaderboard in the making
#
Loqi
yay!
#
Phae
<3 loqi
#
Loqi
gives Phae a backrub
#
Phae
okay
#
Phae
that'll do, bot
#
tantek
you two get a room already - oh wait.
#
tantek
quick, someone propose a last minute SXSW panel: Gamification and Collaborative Wiki Spam Fighting
#
Phae
yesss
#
Phae
i saw a panel up about gamification of web apps
#
Phae
i guess this could be part of that
#
Phae
i think i have it on my watch list
#
aaronpk
so if Loqi notices a message that matches "deleted "[[User:Aulipio]]": content was spam", he'll go look at the most recent change on page "User:Aulipio" and calculate the time difference?
#
Loqi
is done
#
Phae
yeah, i guess so
csarven and jrodgers joined the channel
#
tantek
aaronpk - more like blocked
#
tantek
e.g. blocked [[User:Aulipio]] with an expiry time of infinite
#
tantek
that's the cue for a spammer
#
tantek
the undo spamming action could be *either* a delete
#
tantek
*or* a revert
#
tantek
of someone who was just (will soon be) blocked
#
tantek
so blocking the spammer gets you points
#
tantek
and reverting/deleting their changes gets your *more* points (because that's the more valuable for the community action)
#
tantek
but it's hard to identify spam from just the revert/delete message
#
tantek
hence triggering it from the "block"
#
Chief|AFK
good night everyone :)

Loqi
