Loqi barnabywalters: tantek left you a message on 10/22 at 2:53pm: the normalization step, where it is, is deliberate, as that is following the semantics of those attributes (normalization to absolute URLs), where-as when present in a title attribute or in text, the expectation both in normal usage and in the browser is *no* normalization.
