tommorris I discussed the proposals for using h-cite on Wikipedia and I basically said "look, we're using COinS already, it's terrible" and the response was something along the lines of "yeah, but all specs are terrible, but we have to use what is standard"

tommorris the Foundation recently built out a replacement for templates in the form of Lua code. bundling something like h-cite into a Lua rewrite may be a lot easier than taking the pre-existing spaghetti and hacking atop it.
