ChiefRA - what do you think of using the new microformats2 syntax for hListing? that is using it as "h-ilsting" ?
#
ChiefRA
tantek so far, Google doesn't support mf2... I've asked them and they said they didn't even started working to support this so I prefer something that's already in use at Google

#
tantek
do they already support hListing even partially?
#
ChiefRA
hListing is fully supported.
#
ChiefRA
as it was implemented before we worked on it last week :)
#
ChiefRA
but after we perfect it, I'll give them a ping to update
#
ChiefRA
I can show you some parsing examples from Google if you wish.
#
ChiefRA
that's why I'm trying to definitivate the hlisting as it is, to clarify the usage and to get in touch with Google to perfect their support

ChiefRA
ofc, the implementation on Sotheby's can be improved, but first we need to definitivate it on our side and to clarify sintax usage.

KartikPrabhu: whats the use case?

bret: use case: trying to write science paper in HTML+mf2 instead of Latex
#
KartikPrabhu
ultimately want to convert it to Latex using mf2 data
#
bret
i mean for the mf2 on the TOC? I had a similar confusion when looking to mark up a read the docs site with mf2
#
KartikPrabhu
but that is an aside
#
bret
oh i see
#
KartikPrabhu
one could see readers showing only a toc and an abstract (p-summary) instead of full article
#
bret
KartikPrabhu: nick(?) was doing something similar
#
bret
KartikPrabhu: totally, you dont really want TOC in p-content
#
KartikPrabhu
i want to get the ball rolling on publishing science papers and not "just" blog blurbs
#
bret
KartikPrabhu: I catch your drift.
#
KartikPrabhu
could also be useful for book publishing on the web
#
bret
Maybe for now start with what exists and then explore adding a new property around the TOC and whatnot
#
KartikPrabhu
yeah doing that currently
#
bret
and seeing what that can enable
#
KartikPrabhu
have a temporary e-x-toc on the TOC
#
bret
cause thats the first thing tantek is going to ask, whats the use case for a new p-?
#
KartikPrabhu
hence I posted it right after the question :)

bret
or whatever
