I'm looking into the possibility of adding a rel="bookmark" -> class="u-url u-uid" transformation to the backward compat module of mf2py. This would improve Bridgy's posse-post-discovery support for a huge number of Wordpress themes as discussed here https://github.com/snarfed/bridgy/issues/309

I read http://microformats.org/wiki/h-entry#What_about_rel_bookmark which explains why rel=bookmark was superseded but doesn't say anything that makes me think it shouldn't be part of the parser compatibility

kylewm: if there's consensus with other implementers, I'm happy to accept a pull request.

kylewm: the other approach would be for mf2py to have an 'experimental backcompat' flag that could be toggled. we could then collect usage and see if it causes any issues.
