kylewm Have a question. Parsing microformats to JSON is lossy wrt type information... urls, dates, and strings are all strings in the output. Is that by design? I.e. are the types meant to always be implied by the property name (e.g. in-reply-to is always a url)?

tantek kylewm: it's not that the type information is lossy, but rather that any type canonicalization is performed at parse time, such that the strings given are readily recognizable

tantek hence URLs are made absolute, and dates are figured out etc.

kylewm so in Woodwind, I don't yet recognize likes, reposts, bookmarks, etc. , but I was thinking a useful half-measure would be to show the unrecognized details at the bottom of the post

tantek because if they were specified via "u-*" then they were made absolute

tantek you're not going to see any relative URLs in the parsed JSON output

tantek it's so reliable in fact that you can even assume it means there may be another top level object *at* that URL that you can treat as if it is the other end of the property

kylewm and so it *is* by design that the u- p- dt- prefixes are parsing directives, and should not part of the semantic output?
