tantek: Commented on an older php-mf2 issue, need clarification: https://github.com/indieweb/php-mf2/issues/60#issuecomment-228585448
#
tantek
gRegorLove: huh, I should have caught that
#

we were discouraging YYYYMMDD (value parsing spec is deliberate about that), however if there are non-trivial examples of that date format in use with the value title pattern, it may be something we have to support
#
tantek
can you verify that that example YYYYMMDD usage exists in the wild (maybe at that github URL in the issue?) and note explicitly so (with direct link to where it is) ?
#

(am en route)

Noticed the bright orange warning that value-title might be deprecated, too. Not sure if that matters for now, though (e.g. parsers should still handle it)
#
gRegorLove
I don't know if that means it was in the wild or it's contrived
#
tantek
if it's in the markup of the actual page, it's in the wild
#
tantek
if it's an example in the spec, it's contrived
#
tantek
is the markup escaped or not basically
#
gRegorLove
I presume it was on https://url.spec.whatwg.org/ at the time.

The raw.github version still works, though they deliver it as text/plain: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/whatwg/url/b791ca2da795aa14a498f6163161fa9acddba8b6/url.html
#
gRegorLove
I'm fine with not parsing YYYYMMDD values personally. :)

tantek
wait what - I was that last person to touch that whatwg url.html file?!?
#
tantek
oh that was a branch, checking master now
#
tantek
gRegorLove: fixed in latest version: https://github.com/whatwg/url/blob/master/url.html so we can ignore YYYYMMDD for now.
#
tantek
thanks for the cleanup on that h-product example

aaronpk - re: "we don't have a featured video on the english home page. should we?" yes I think that makes sense. Note that we do have featured videos on the videos about page: https://indiewebcamp.com/videos_about_the_indieweb#Featured_videos

@coldacid_ebooks
Need more upstream B/W for putting microformats everywhere in Wikipedia, isn't it.
