The content of the template element is a separate DocumentFragment and should not be interpreted. But the template element itself is part of your current DOM as far as I can find, and it can legally have a class and title attribute.

@netribution @aidanskinner @mattervc We still have some aspects of those ideas in the form of microformats and http://schema.org - which are far far far easier to implement and therefore actually do see use. You need to be able to make something in an afternoon for those kinds of open standards to take hold.
