who are the php people?
#
GWG
tantek__: I think KartikPrabhu is pushing it on gRegorLove?
#
GWG
But, considering gRegorLove is probably one of the most prolific contributors to the php-mf2 package, he probably should be part of the microformats organization
#
KartikPrabhu
I would do it, but I am only a "member" on microformats not an owner
#
gRegorLove
tantek: might need your help to move it https://github.com/indieweb/php-mf2/issues/179
#
Loqi
[gRegorLove] #179 Move this repo to the microformats github org
#
KartikPrabhu
right I think you need to have permissions in both repos to move things
#
tantek__
is there a certain level of membership necessary to do a move?
#
tantek__
anyone have docs on this?
#
tantek__
happy to do what's necessary I'd just like to know for sure (per GH docs) rather than guess at it
#
GWG
tantek__: You are likely an owner in both organizations, so you should be able to do it.
#
KartikPrabhu
tantek__: since you are owner in microformats you can just try on the indieweb repo to move it. If you do not have enough permissions on indiweb it will just be denied
#
GWG
tantek__: I'd also invite gRegorLove as a Microformats member.
#
KartikPrabhu
he already is
#
KartikPrabhu
his membership status is private though
#
GWG
Then why is he not on the people page?
#
GWG
Oh.
#
GWG
Sorry, you answered a moment afterward.
#
KartikPrabhu
oh no! I may have exposed gRegorLove's microformats work in public :P
#
gRegorLove
I'm just a regular member there. Switched it to public (guess it's private by default)
#
gRegorLove
Lulz. I was just added at LS
#
KartikPrabhu
yes, private by default (which is good)
#
aaronpk
If the error message is any indication, then in order to move a repo you need permissions to be able to create repos in both orgs
#
aaronpk
Github permissions are very complicated but they do have docs
#
KartikPrabhu
already mentioned ;)
#
aaronpk
Oh good
#

KartikPrabhu: can you add that to https://indieweb.org/organizations perhaps in the GitHub section

Catching up on the microformats library thread: I imagine that would include https://github.com/indieweb/microformats-ruby being moved to the Microformats GitHub org?
#
Loqi
[indieweb] microformats-ruby: A Ruby gem to parse HTML containing one or more microformats and microformats2 and return a collection of dynamically defined Ruby objects, a Ruby hash or a JSON hash.
#
[jgarber]
…and if anyone needs some help with specific GitHub org/repo permissions issues, I could maybe help out. I pitch in a regularly at work with getting folks access to our org/repos/etc.
#
[jgarber]
(and yeah, it is complex as someone pointed out)

just catching up, hmm, i agree that it would make sense to move the parsers. but I thought the idea of not doing that was to foster others to create parsers
#
ben_thatmustbeme
not just having "one per language"
#
sknebel
given our lack of manpower, one maintained parser per language would already be progress
#
sknebel
not sure more choices that can't keep up would be better
#
Zegnat
I think it is fine to keep parsers out of the org. E.g. the Go parser. But when they are already owned by an org (indieweb), they feel more at home in the microformats org
