[Marco] I just read up on the issue with screen reader software/assistive technology stopping and restarting on inline `<span>` elements.

[Marco] VoiceOver for MacOS also does this – by default though! The user would have to change settings.

[Marco] It seems it is related to the user configuration of the software itself and it is related to JAWS (being a pretty popular Screen Reader software for Windows). Microsoft Narrator also seems affected.
