@AtyHans Twitter thinks I should follow you. I have a BA in Psychology, I know what AI is (or was in the 90s), and I'm good with atheism, poly or otherwise. I don't understand microformats or HTML5, but would quite like to.

↩️ The origin of my surname, undoubtedly, was pejorative. It explains why there are so many Polak's that are not family. It's a very Jewish surname. About Microformats. You can use my tool and see the results. You can nest various related properties. You can add various Things …

Looking at website did not see any top level microformats like an h-entry for posts and h-feed for your feeds. Might be some slight naming confusion. microformats != RDFa, and microdata. I see you are on blogspot I made a microformats theme: … https://quickthoughts.jgregorymcverry.com/2019/03/18/looking-at-website-did-not-see-any

Apache Jena looks really interesting. Getting to the benefits of semantic, relatable markup. The web itself can sorta start being treated as a relational database with RDF & OWL. Reminds me of HyperCard. Also RIP microformats. http://jena.apache.org/documentation/rdf/index.html

Huh. It's been a while since we got an old school SemWeb troll. The linked documentation says nothing about microformats. So no reason to call it out negatively as such.
#
[tantek]
Worth starting a list of instances of SemWeb advocates unnecessarily trolling microformats?
#
[tantek]
(Certainly not the first time it's happened, usually ignorable)
#
sknebel
I'm not sure that was inteded as a "troll"

sknebel, how else would you interpret someone unnecessarily making an unqualified negative remark that is not substantiated by the cited link?
#
[tantek]
What alternative motivations would you use to explain the behavior?
#
sknebel
ah simple off-hand reference along the lines of "I also remembered microformats right now, those were a thing everyone was excited about some time ago"
#
sknebel
random tweets are the wrong medium to expect a standard of precision and things being "substantiated"
#
sknebel
and Loqi picking them out based on keywords gives them undue "weight", which IMHO causes people to pay too much attention to them
#
sknebel
"troll" is vastly different standard
#
sknebel
especially in a tweet by a random person that likely has no expectation of anyone who would be feeling "trolled" by their comment to even see it

sknebel++ appreciated - good way to draw out a more optimistic & hopeful assessment.

perhaps an encouraging reply, e.g. pointing out growing IndieWeb uses, could be effective
