I was going to add * [https://itunes.apple.com/app/apple-store/id1080840241?mt=8 Castro Podcast Player] displays a "Support This Podcast" button for a podcast if a rel-payment link is in the podcast episode's show notes HTML. [https://twitter.com/tobsen/status/1114153812493852672 via Tobsen] to the rel-payment page as an example, but ran into a reCaptch v1 is shut down notice that wouldn't allow it...

Someone should update to the newer version of reCaptcha on the wiki....
#
chrisaldrich
apparently it pops up as an anti-spam measure when adding external URLs
#
chrisaldrich
I do notice that gRegorLove got the example into the IW wiki as well...

is there a way to say 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month in an h-event?

recurringevents--
#
Loqi
recurringevents has -1 karma over the last year
#
gRegorLove
chrisaldrich, Yeah, lots of updates on the list for microformats.org :)
#
gRegorLove
You can use <nowiki> around the URLs for now, or I think the admins can add them. I can try.
#
gRegorLove
That twitter thread led me down a rabbit hole finding some others that support rel-payment https://podnews.net/article/add-a-donate-button-to-your-podcast
#
aaronpk
yeah! it's a relatively recent thing
#
[jgmac1106]
<time class="dt-start">1st Wednesday of the Month, 5:30</time>
#
[jgmac1106]
to <time class="dt-end">7:30</time>
#
gRegorLove
Glad to see it getting more adoption
#
[jgmac1106]
just don't want to update every week, not on the wiki, working on a website
#
aaronpk
the problem with recurring events is the reader can never be actually sure whether it's up to date
#
aaronpk
calagator explicitly disallows creating recurring events for that reason
#
[jgmac1106]
ahh makes sense
#
aaronpk
just think about every recurring meeting invite you've ever gotten. isn't it kind of a boy who cries wolf after a while?
#
gRegorLove
boy who cries meeting? hehe
#
[jgmac1106]
not in the molasses of higher ed, a standing meeting time can last decades
#
[jgmac1106]
won't do reoccuring since it is for HWC I will be there to update anyways
#
gRegorLove
A cron could generate # of the individual event posts at a time
#
gRegorLove
but that gets complicated, especially if you need to update in bulk
