Has anyone done any automatic microformats upgrade/downgrading? I'm adding mf2 to my site and was thinking it might be worth having my static site build add the mf1 class names automatically rather than trying to remember to add them all. I am curious if a) there is documentation on differences beyond class name changes and b) if there's any existing tooling that I could look at as an example.

for mf1 classes, it depends on the root class name being used

Ah, that's good to know

[tantek]
compat info on e.g. "differences beyond class name changes" is in the respective mf2 vocabulary spec, e.g. for h-card, see: https://microformats.org/wiki/h-card#Publisher_Compatibility

↩️ For contact cards, I'd default to https://microformats.org/wiki/h-card unless there were a good reason to invent my own.

↩️ microformats and microdata were indeed part of what i wanted to see if anyone would choose, and why, as are just regular attributes

↩️ I'm not exactly picking a microformat because microformats are good in general. It's just that I really like being able to take advantage of someone else's design, and to be able to blame @t if there's anything wrong with it.
