↩️ yeah imho microformats and portability - language things - are like the core challenge. Interested in any pointers to who folks think is doing it best right now, say for identity & events. It seems like ActivityStreams & webfinger are the closest?

regarding a MF2 parser with HTML inline
#
jacky
the way the Rust parser currently works is by node transversal over the entire DOM that's been parsed
#
jacky
I don't see it being difficult to attach the node being parsed to the flow in a way that'd allow for side-by-side representation of the results
#
jacky
I'd have to figure out how to show that on the screen in the Web browser but I _think_ that's displayable in the CLI
#
[KevinMarks]
That might be a bit trickier for the python one
#
jacky
how so?
#
sknebel
python one could do it similarly. its not impossible, but getting it down in detail is a pile of work
#
[KevinMarks]
It doesn't traverse in quite the same way, but uses queries to filter it

are there cases of a 'partial' h-card split across pages?
#
jacky
my particular use-case is wanting to keep modes of comms on one page and other rel-me things and attributes on another
#
jacky
(think: an about page + contact page and being able to 'merge' those bits of information dynamically)

I didn't start that discussion

We had been having it before the repo

I have a particular use-case for this that I'd outline below: Each page on my site points to my h-card from the header. That's marked up with rel="me author" and as a .h-card.u-uid.u-url. It has a photo and my nickname that I'd prefer to use. Ideally...
