[tantek][Simon_Gray] the tl;dr: for most folks, is that implementations, use-cases, etc. RDF is a YAGNI, and people will tend towards doing less work when they can. If they can parse prefixes as string literals and that seems to "work", they won't bother with a triple store etc.
