If I wanted to bring VCP parsing information and backcompat mapping information directly into the parsing document so everything is together, what would be the process for this? I'm willing to do the work, but how would I do it?

The parsing spec has a process for proposing changes, linked from the top.
#
[tantek]
This is an interesting one because it is arguably both substantial and really too large to be considered "purely" editorial

Having written more tests this morning now I'm finding that not even Go passes. Despite the VCP doc specifying that *descendants* should be examined, it seems to look only at children. I suspect the fact that its parsing rules are buried in amongst other text and that they don't follow the same logical conventions as the main parsing doc doesn't help. Plus the doc that's there fails to mention that one should skip child microf

It's certainly possible we need to revise the VCP spec to better represent actual publishing use-cases and remove complexity accordingly
#
[tantek]
For now can you file an issue on that last part "needs to mention to skip child microformats"?
#
jkingweb
Will do.

jkingweb, Have you seen the proposed microformats popup? https://indieweb.org/pop-up#Microformats_Roundtable There's some prerequisites before we schedule it (listed near the bottom), but you should add yourself as interested!
#
jkingweb
I had not. I'd be happy to participate, though.
#
gRegor
Awesome, would love to have you there

Okay, what's the simplest way to get an IndieAuth implementation on my web site so I can create an account on the wiki so I can create a user page so I can express my interest? 😛
#
gRegor
It relies on indielogin.com and will use RelMeAuth, via a rel=me link to Github, email, or PGP. More on https://indielogin.com/setup

Okay, leaning on GitHub sounds easy enough. At some point maybe I'll resurrect my hacked-up IndieAuth implementation. Years ago I'd started working on a Microsub implementation (my interest in all this all comes from my personal newsfeed server, https://thearsse.com/ ), but it didn't work out for a few reasons and I left it unfinished except for a minimally viable IndieAuth implementation.

haha, great domain

https://dustinwilson wrote the web site and some bits of code with me, and suggested the name. 😉
#

Cool. Adding yourself on the wiki isn't required to attend of course, just helps during planning
#
jkingweb
Yeah. I don't mind a little bother to make things easier for everyone else. No problem.
#
jkingweb
Ugh, I meant https://dustinwilson.com/ of course. Stupid fingers.

I added myself under https://indieweb.org/pop-up#Interest but now there's some empty space below my name for some reason. Is it something wrong with my chat-name template? Blargh.
