[KevinMarks] Music Brainz is worth a look because it has tried to tease out things like multiple variants of the same album. Also the mp3 tags are woeful for classical music and have led to lots of compromises. With streaming platforms now in late stage enshittification where they use AI to fake entire bands to reduce the amount they pay out to musicians, reviving ground up taxonomy is worth a look.
