Is there an efficient way to use php-mf2 to verify that a source has truely webmentioned a target? Simplist start is just a check, then other properties in the item can be inspected later...

the dumbest, most efficient way is just a substring search for the target link in the source document, no mf2 parsing at all

er, target URL

So if I do want to inspect the mf2, it would just be easier to do a plaintext string search anyway?

I think webmention source target checking strategy is broader than the microformats present or not and might be better discussed in #indieweb-dev
