aaronpk_ / [tantek] - should we setup a GitHub Org Team for the microformats-parser-website repos? Or how to the rights work? I have been keeping Python up-to-date, and it looks like I can merge on the Go repo, but I am not allowed to merge on the NodeJS repo?
#
Zegnat
I am slowly going through them and trying to get them cleaned up. I prepped the NodeJS update only to notice I do not seem to have permissions on that one.
#
aaronpk_
Hm I thought that already existed

I am only in a Team for Parser development
#
Zegnat
And I do not actually know how I got perms in the Go website repo, as I have never touched that one. All I can say is that I definitely do not have perms in the Node website one.
#
[tantek]
interesting, yes worth setting something like that up if we don't already. or maybe it's a matter of adding you to the right team/groups?
#
[tantek]
I always find GH org/team/group structures confusing
#
aaronpk_
should we have a single team for all of the website repos?
#
[tantek]
I would be fine with that personally. There's enough overlap that I think that would work better (not worth the marginal cost of maintaining separate teams per language subsite)
#
aaronpk
ok new team is created with all the website repos, zegnat is added to it
#
Zegnat
[tantek]: I too find the perms confusing, I always lose track of who is part of what. We run into similar problems with consultants at work, who are not in our Org but do need to be added to a subset of repos ...
#
Zegnat
aaronpk: thanks, I will see if I can clean up the PRs on the NodeJS one once I am off work!

That is Python and JavaScript done. With a potential CSS refresh pending in Python (that I am happy to port to the others).

I also know how to get Go updated, but I will first see if will wants to refresh his PR.
#
Zegnat
Guess I will set my sights on PHP next. Especially with the new release
#
Zegnat
For PHP: it currently offers to save the parsed HTML and/or render it. Go/JS/Python do no such thing, because it needs db infra.
#
Zegnat
Question: do we want to keep that around? Or would it be OK to sunset that and only be a parser demo?
#
jkingweb
It's not my parser, but it seems like an unnecessarily feature which could be abused, to me.
#
Zegnat
I do not think we have seen abuse of it. I am more interested in streamlining the infra.
#
Zegnat
(I was also thinking of maybe including your parser as an optin, jkingweb ;) )

Feel free! I actually had a new release, too, a few days ago. I started using the new Uri extension introduced in PHP 8.5. Ended up writing my own polyfill for it to keep the platform requirements low.

What's the lifetime of those saved parses?
#
gRegor
I generally enjoy using that as a quick way to demo markup and results, like when explaining something in chat that isn't trivial
