melvster, i didn't understand how you define who can edit ACL files? https://www.w3.org/wiki/WebAccessControl#Modifying_Access_Control_information
#
melvster
elf-pavlik: it's read write control for a user (agent) or for everyone (agentClass)
#
elf-pavlik
melvster, do you have example somewhere showing ACL definition for editing .acl file itself ?

elf-pavlik: ^^
#
melvster
each rule is for world, user or group like unix
#
melvster
its essentially the web version of chmod
#
melvster
i should really write an app for gists
#
elf-pavlik
where do you store the rel="acl" relation ?
#
melvster
<uri>,acl
#
melvster
generally
#
elf-pavlik
if you store in file sysetm files foo and foo,acl - where do you store triple <foo> acl:acl <foo, acl> ?
#
melvster
in the link header
#
melvster
rel="acl" you said it already :)
#
elf-pavlik
you respond with it in link header, but where do you persist it?
#
melvster
that's up to the server
#
elf-pavlik
i know, how do you implment it? :)
#
melvster
see GOLD
#
melvster
elf-pavlik: there's some crazy people that want to put it in .well-known ... but most people think that's a bad idea ... hopefully that wont happen
#
elf-pavlik
i don't want to explore gold source code atm ... i remember bblfish saying that he stores both web page (ttl) and ACL (ttl) in file system, but tripled relating both don't belong to web page itself but just gets added to HTTP header when requested?
#
melvster
but sometimes crazy bad ideas get into RECs :(
#
melvster
yes its in the http header
#
melvster
if you want implementation details look at the source, you can implement it the way you want
#
elf-pavlik
so you don't know details of any existing implementation yourself?
#
melvster
elf-pavlik: sorry i dont have time to offer you dedicated 1 on 1 support on this, rtfm
#
elf-pavlik
roger! thx :)
#
elf-pavlik
!tell bblfish i remember that your implementation stores both: document with data and ACL for it on the file system, where do you store (persist) triple with rel="acl" which later you include in HTTP Header?
#
Loqi
Ok, I'll tell them that when I see them next
