[dansup] An ActivityPub conference would be awesome.I would go, would you?#activitypub
#
jaywink[m]
dansup: totally! though maybe "federated social web" kinda thing
#
dansup
jaywink[m] :)
#
dansup
I would like to convince cwebber to organize this. I think it would be great to bring everyone together and discuss various topics.
#
dansup
I dont like to travel, so remote would be a great feature to support

I would go to an Apple conference if it was accessible by land/sea from Europe :)

yeah within Europe is my travel limitation too, mainly for budget reasons. and because travelling to the US would feel scary :|

Anyone here working on/around PeerTube?
#
Chocobozzz
csarven: yes
#
csarven
Chocobozzz: In case you didn't know about https://dev.tube/ , you might want to ping those folks re ActivityPub / PeerTube. That'd be a cool node.
#
Chocobozzz
csarven: they use non creative commons youtube videos, so i don't think it would be feasible to put these videos on a peertube instance :)
#
csarven
I see. I mainly wanted to ping re activities.
#
csarven
It'd be good to nudge any way and see what the absolute constraints are. It is possible that they can promote CC videos as well.

Chocobozzz, it might still be worth to ping them. of course they wont put the thousand of videos, but some might still

vasilakisfil: did you get federation working? happy to help debug if you're around later today/tomorrow
#
vasilakisfil
nightpool[m] nope, the strange thing for me is that I don't get any error in the http body (although if I change something in the signaure I get an error regarding signature)
#
vasilakisfil
it would be great if you can help, I ll try to setup an instance today and tomorrow because probably I ll need it soon or later :P

vasilakisfil: i feel really bad that my tutorial led to a dead end somehow :( mysterious error
#
nightpool[m]
vasilakisfil: unfortunately the server I have access to is down right now
#
nightpool[m]
and i'm trying to deal wit htaht
#
nightpool[m]
*with that
#
nightpool[m]
but it does look like a signature error, that's the only thing that can produce a 401. The only thing I can see that's different is the trailing newline on the PEM representation that mastodon produces
#
vasilakisfil
Gargron ah really no worries, without that I wouldn't spend that much time :P as I told you such blog posts are super helpful

so, Evan wanted to do another call today I think

because we missed last week's call

but... I don't see Evan

I'm not available for a meeting today unfortunately :(
#
bengo
It seems like this group can/should vote on my PRs here if one of the editors won't https://github.com/w3c/activitystreams/pulls
#
cwebber2
bengo: I really need to get to those :(
#
cwebber2
I'm sorry
#
cwebber2
my life has been upside down because of this move
#
cwebber2
we're at the new place, not all our things are even here yet
#
cwebber2
and the moving company won't even tell us when they will arrive
#
bengo
No sweat! Glad you have a nice home and new state. Exciting.
#
bengo
That's what dedicated meeting time can be for :)
#
nightpool[m]
very funny that me and cwebber apparently can't be in the same state at the same time
#
bengo
Those 2 PRs only change two lines. I think defensible. This isn't a normally scheduled meeting time, but for next week I propose voting on whether to merge or close them.
#
cwebber2
bengo: +1
#
cwebber2
I think that's a good idea
#
cwebber2
mind adding it to the agenda on the wiki?
#
bengo
kk
#

Other thing that's been on agenda for two weeks now is to "Vote on https://github.com/w3c/activitystreams/wiki/Extension-process"
#
bengo
I think what's there to vote on isn't clear enough to be voted on, tbh. I have outlined some concerns here: https://github.com/w3c/activitystreams/issues/479
