melody i don't think AP has useful semantics for real time chat, and that's not just a presentational issue, it doesn't have the primitives for presence, rooms, or keeping the integrity of message chains, you could torture it into working, or build a lot of extensions to try to support it, but it'd be a painful retrofitting process to do well
