melody so to drag this mess back -- if you wanted to build any sort of secure, near-real-time chat over AP you would need to define a lot of undefined behavior in a way that is reproducible and at least somewhat formalized, and I don't think it makes sense to try to do that, because some of the things that *are* already defined don't really fit that use case well
