# heluecht[m] It seems as if socialhub.network is no more?
# dansup heluecht[m]: yes
# dansup I removed the DNS records, I have not heard from mxb in months
# heluecht[m] Ah okay.
# dansup heluecht[m]: yeah I don't have time to manage that forum and I'm willing to donate the domain if it could help
# rigelk[m] heluecht: https://socialhub.activitypub.rocks/ is the replacement
# heluecht[m] dansup (IRC): Yeah, I can understand these problems. I'm also participating in too much different activities.

# heluecht[m] rigelk: I'm slightly unhappy with this situation. When the problems with socialhub.network began, the people from Feneas offered to manage the forum by themselves. But then there had been some "communication issues", so that this never happened. But since something had to be done, Feneas opened up a forum on their own.
# heluecht[m] Now we do have two concurring forums.
# rigelk[m] heluecht: I didn't know about the feneas forum. I'm happy with this situation regardless, as it is an improvement over the previous one. The whole socialcg org will benefit from having a forum they control gathering meetings, implementations, questions and suggestions - something they couldn't do within the W3C for instance, since one needed a veted account on their side to just edit the wiki. Now, communications issues are not set in stone. Nothing
# rigelk[m] prevents a future merge.
# fr33domlover dansup, is there a way to get the old socialhub content? I had stuff there for the ForgeFed spec, discussion to review etc.
# heluecht[m] The feneas forum has got a wider audience, since it is not only focused on AP, but can be used for other things as well. (like the planned Fediverse conference next year) We have to see how this will develop in the future.

# fr33domlover Overall, having those 2 forums like that is confusing
# fr33domlover Because they do have a lot in common
# trwnh the old socialhub is unnecessary but the content on it is pretty necessary
# fr33domlover Technically, no project except ForgeFed made the Feneas forum into its home; but the same is true for the new SocialHub
# fr33domlover The active stuff is mostly general AP and fediverse topics
# trwnh i think the new socialhub is more of a, well, *forum* -- a common place to discuss activitypub. it's ok if projects don't necessarily "make it their home", as long as they discuss their extensions and compatibility

# jesopo do any implementations use this
# jesopo I'd hope this is what is used for markdown
# jesopo ah. i guess pleroma doesn't at least
# heluecht[m] > <@irc_fr33domlover:cybre.space> Technically, no project except ForgeFed made the Feneas forum into its home; but the same is true for the new SocialHub
# heluecht[m] Friendica is a multi protocol systems (AP, DFRN, OStatus and Diaspora). So their best place would be the Feneas forum, since the other only would cover the AP part, I guess.
# heluecht[m] > <@irc_jesopo:cybre.space> do any implementations use this
# heluecht[m] Friendica is using the "source" property for its BBCode content.
# jaywink[m] > <@irc_jesopo:cybre.space> do any implementations use this
# jaywink[m] Socialhome uses it, source has the markdown original

# heluecht[m] jaywink: I guess I need some test account at Socialhome to perform some tests between our two systems.
# jaywink[m] > <@heluecht:feneas.org> jaywink: I guess I need some test account at Socialhome to perform some tests between our two systems.
# jaywink[m] Registration is open at socialhome.network 👍
# jaywink[m] Though, it's very alpha

# fr33domlover I use source too
# fr33domlover For markdown
# kaniini adding it to pleroma is on my todo list, just haven't gotten to it yet
# heluecht[m] jaywink: fr33domlover (IRC) would you support a nested array in the sources? Then one could provide not only one coding, but multiple ones (like BBCode and Markdown)
# nightpool[m] heluecht: the problem with that is that only one can really be the "original" source, right?
# nightpool[m] the others presumably are dervived from whichever came first
# dansup fr33domlover: you would have to contact mxb, I don't have access to the server
# dansup jaywink[m]: congrats, I signed up and I must say I am pretty impressed with the compose UI :D
