melody there are definitely mutually incompatible goals, i think i tend to try to make the local more friendly to changing history and less friendly to tracking it, but i see the merits, if you can't prevent tracking it, to making it very visible so that everyone is at least aware that they should think about that when they post -- but my preference is still to discourage + mitigate as much as possible, to narrow windows of opportunity for harm
