# On open source processes: W3C has a protocol standard for social media. I haven’t worked with it myself (which I need to look into) but W3C is serious business in my game. Ask Roy Fielding. Projects like Mastodon are a beginning, not an end.

ActivityPub Twitter alternatives like Mastodon, or the more crazy forks of mastodon like Parler or truth social, implement (at least technically under the hood for the later two examples) RSS already .
