I legit can't tell if that's someone's OpenClaw that went through that whole journey
#

But it's true it's a good point we should remove the "twitter" references in the various web sign in pages, since that isn't a successful path anymore

one of the issues from that "IndieWeb is Right. But Should We Trust It?" post is they used bluesky for rel=me, and it needs to be `rel=me atproto` for bluesky, and even with that indiewebify.me currently complains it doesn't link back, so unfortunately they picked the one profile that needs special treatment - I'll continue this in the dev channel

[benatwork] wow I would not have guessed "written by ChatGPT" for that post.
#

yeah that indiewebify-me out of data instructional copy is no good. that's gotta be 10y at this point
#
[tantek]
[aaronpk] re: remove "twitter" references, here's one at least: https://github.com/indieweb/indiewebify-me/pull/129
#
[tantek]
[benatwork] ok no seriously I've read all the way through this piece and it's feeling VERY human-authentic-speaking-directly. You really think ChatGPT could have produced this?
#
[tantek]
will take the PRs etc to dev
#
[benatwork]
I think it could have but I'll withdraw my claim. It looks to me like it may have had a GPT editing pass, but that's not at all the same as being inauthentic.
#
[tantek]
There's also a feeling I get in reading it of, the time and thoroughness of the critiques come from a place of genuine passionate caring, and I don't think ChatGPT can simulate that (yet?). Especially when you put the prose in the context of being a writer from Cardiff, Wales, such thoughtful and non-inflammatory critique can even be interpreted as an act of "tough kindness"
#
aaronpk
I don't know, there's a lot of GPT-isms in it
#
[tantek]
interesting. like perhaps as [benatwork] they used ChatGPT as a proofreader/editor? like maybe even to tone down the original critique?
#
[tantek]
really curious about the GPT-isms (since the whole emdash thing was kind of a joke — as someone who usually uses emdashes 🙂 )
#
[tantek]
ok on the emdash thing, I am suspicious because of the use of emdashes in *headings* which then were automatically created into ID attributes, and an emdash requires URL encoding so it makes the fragments uglier. can't tell if that's a Ghost thing though or just a side-effect
